We take two beats worth of single strokes and start “placing” a double (RR) on the first note: beat1! We play this for a few bars and then while keeping the same ‘motion’ we fill in or ‘burst’ the double with a single note on the opposite hand. i.e R R becomes RLR
After a few repeats we then ‘place’ our double on the ‘2nd note’ and move on like this through the two beats. Voila
