Two things here.
The first one. We are using the “Stone Formula” which consists of playing one idea for 5 minutes at X tempo, then carry on for 3 minutes at X+5 bpm, then again for 1 minute at X+10bpm. The twist here is that we will go the other way round and slow down!! Whaaaat??
The second and main one is that we are working on extremely slow doubles aiming at ‘controlling’ (massive misnomer) the rebound in order to ‘effectively’ not physically play the second stroke but instead get it for free through rebound. The trick will be to do this in time at slower and slower tempo.
It gets pretty deep and you’re going to have to seriously connect with your body making a conscious effort to seperate the gears (arm, elbow, wrist, fulcrum) and decide a clear role for them all. The goal will be to ‘set’ the second stroke from doing only one motion.
Disclaimer: This is on idea introduced by Dave Elitch and I will try my absolute best to do it justice. You should most definitely check him and his courses/lessons out.
