Inspired by Gavin Harrison’s book Rhythmic Illusions. We go up through the Table of Time as per usual – starting with 8th notes all the way up to 15’s, 16’s etc; playing all of these subdivisions over one beat. Then repeat the process playing them over two beats! So your favourite quintuplet now becomes a 5:2.
Scary business but the good news is that going from the first to the second scale we will change our click rather than what we play!
